Unsecure chicken perches

I had an interview today at The Genome Analysis Centre for a year placement position-I only found out I'd got through to this stage on Friday-and I think it went quite well.

 

However something which has made me chuckle and I thought I'd share is what they commented on at the end of the interview. In praise to them they had read through my CV and on it I'd mentioned that I'd been a volunteer on the Omlet stand at the Bath and West show a couple of times. Well, one of the interviewers said at the end, 'oh, I looked at those chicken coops on the internet-I'd never heard of them before-they're really cool', 'how much are they?'. At which point I explained about £400, and then he went, 'so how many chickens can you have in one?'. Hee hee, I found this funny...I wonder when they start to narrow down the candidates whether I'll be remembered as the chicken student?!

Always good to bring up the chickens. I should add to my CV that if they employ me they will have a chance to buy award winning eggs from me I have a waiting list at work for them at the moment

My chickens got me my job,I am convinced of it

 

We were asked to draw an animal,obviously I drew a chicken.

Then we had to explain why,so I told the group (it was a group interview) about my hens & their eggs.

I am sure this went down very well, & in my second face to face interview ,I was asked out right if I would be comfortable talking to customers about my hens & free range eggs

Back in 6th form when I had my Uni interview we spoke about chickens and wanting to be a Poultry Vet, when they send my offer through the post he included a postcard mentioning the chickens

Still have it somewhere at home

 

 

I had an interview for a Stockman + Relief Milker job on the Uni farms just before Christmas but I knew 2 of the 3 people on the panel who are probs fed up with my chickens and didn't ask about them!
