Olly Posted March 3, 2013 Share Posted March 3, 2013 I've got quite a few things from the Omlet 'must-have' suggestions (Turtle door mat, steam cleaner, Lumie alarm clock to name just three) - it's great to get recommendations on here from people who've tried things. My new Lakeland heated airer arrived yesterday and I am just thrilled with it - and yes, I know it's a sign of middle age to get so excited about washing! I don't have a tumble drier because they use so much electricity, so I dry stuff over radiators or on a traditional airer - easier for me than some, because I live on my own, but it still means washing hanging around the house for days and big items take ages to dry. I put this on last night and it dried a whole set of bedding overnight - the duvet cover was still slightly damp, but good enough to finish in the airing cupboard. This afternoon it's dried a load of undies in only a couple of hours, a pair of jeans is still damp but nearly dry, they normally take two days on the airer. Definitely recommended, I just wish I'd bought one last year, with that awful wet summer it would have been so useful. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Who'd have thought I'd be asking about an iron as I hate ironing! Its amazing how you can get excited about something soooooooo unexciting! Ain't Nobody Here Posted March 3, 2013 Share Posted March 3, 2013 I bought one for ES for his cold, damp room in his flat - he thinks it's great (so it must be good if a 20 year old bloke likes it ). Seagazer Posted March 4, 2013 Share Posted March 4, 2013 I've had one for a few months now and its the best thing I've bought I've hardly used the tumble dryer (I tend to place towels over the top of the other stuff drying - like a cover and then finish the towels off for a couple of minutes in the tumble dryer just to soften them off). We don't have radiators as we have underfloor heating so had been hanging clothes up in my very small utility room but I could only fit one wash on the lines. Grandmashazzie Posted March 4, 2013 Share Posted March 4, 2013 Yes my eldest daughter has one and it's fabulous when you have 3 little ones.I have multi fuel stove with nursery fireguard as I have a little foster baby and I find it great for drying when I am in house and can watch clothes,they dry super quick. Angie Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 I'm waiting for mine, the large one, it has been out of stock for the last few weeks but I have had an email , it will be here in the morning. I opted for the larger so i could stand it next to the wall on the landing and use half.( But that half would take all my washing. ) Also to save some money by not using the tumble dryer so much and thinking ahead for wet weeks in the summer......i hate having to put the dryer on in the summer. Putting a sheet/duvet cover over the top definitely improves performance, and if I've got room I lay things flat on the bottom racks rather than hanging them from the bars. OH is driving me mad with wet towels, he constantly showers and uses a huge bath towel, a large bath robe and a face towel each time. All are left sopping wet.
