Inspired by JimnPaula's pic .... ... on the Cube Ladder thread, I got DH to build our Girls a verandah. They currenty have two Cubes to choose from, the Verandah has only been installed on one.

 

We used a spare set of roosting bars (rather than wood) to make cleaning a bit easier.

 

Not sure yet whether the little madams will approve.

 

Maybe Omlet should consider verandahs and mid height perches as the next Cube accessory?

It's an egg shaped cat bed. Someone had one on here ages ago, I liked it, and I got one as an overflow nestbox.

I'd chill out on that verandah especially with Pimms on offer.

 

They'll love it, I did something similar for mine. It was somewhere to put extra food if there's any argy bargy in the coop

They are all ignoring it at the moment. I think Food might be the answer. If I put some bar snacks up there, perhaps that will encourage them to use it.

Clever idea Hazel - The Boy and i were just talking about the idea of a mezzanine at the weekend.

 

Try some corn on the cob up there, it won't roll off and they will do anything to get to it.
