No toilets at home - updated

Recommended Posts

Being out in the sticks we do not have mains drainage. We share a septic tank with next door, which worked well when we moved in 9 years ago but now needs emptying every few weeks. So this week it is being replaced with a modern version, called a bio-pure.

Well I came back from school to find an alien spaceship had landed on the drive, it is quite large  , the builders will need to dig a big hole to fit it into.

As a result of this work, we have no drains until the work is complete, so I am going to DDs to use her facilities.

Does anyone have any experience of these more modern systems, it needs an electricity supply. Not quite sure why :?

As DS said fingers crossed they complete the work on time and with no problems or it will be legs crossed for a long time :D

Work seems to be progressing well. I have a big hole in the drive and a big mound of earth on the drive and the spaceship type object is in the hole.

Builder kindly closed the drive gates last night just to make sure I didn't drive into the hole after work :D

CC yes that is the thing!!!

Good news, it is all up and running. It hums away in the corner of the garden like a little spaceship waiting for permission to take off.

The builder says it will only need emptying every 3 to 5 years so we will wait and see what happens. Very impressed by the builders they did the work when they said and finished when they said.

The only question I have is that in the info it says not to use anti-bac handwash and washing up liquid which I do use so I will have to change my shopping habits, it also suggests ecoballs for washing, anyone use them?
