Egluntyne
Am thinking about upgrading to an iphone. Do I go for the 1gb package or 2gb?
Geoid
Is this for the internet access? If so, 1GB (per month) will be plenty.
Egluntyne
It is. I won't be listening to much music and won't be viewing you tube videos or watching telly. Cheers.

Lavenders_Blue
I've just got a new smartphone (not iPhone) and went for 250mb data per month. I've used about 70mb in around 2 1/2 weeks as I mostly connect to WiFi for Internet access. I'm amazed at the number of places you can pickup free WiFi while you're out and about, plus at home of course.
Egluntyne
That's useful. Thanks.
The Dogmother
I almost never use my phone's 3G internet access; I use it almost entirely via wifi (which is quicker at any rate).
Lavenders_Blue
I'm fairly sure you can also switch off data on your phone settings, so it doesn't use up data in the background (ie checking for emails, updating apps etc) then you can just switchboard on when needed. That would help keep data use to an absolute minimum if needed - or if getting close to your data allowance.
percy049
1GB will be more than enough unless you plan on watching several films via your phone internet. I only normally use about 200-300MB a month
Egluntyne
Cheers. 1GB it is then.
Egluntyne
I've got it and I absolutely love it! Why have I resisted for so long?

Lavenders_Blue
I felt the same when I got my new smartphone. I had resisted for ages thinking that my phone called and texted people so what else does it need to do? Now... My calendar is on there (diary gone from handbag!) and appointments pop up automatically, thus relieving me of the problem of putting appointments in my diary, but not actually bothering to check it My addresses and phone numbers are all on there (address book also gone from handbag, handbag now significantly lighter). It has a sat nav, so I don't have to drive around with bits of paper and maps taped to the dashboard and windscreen Plus lots of other handy stuff like being able to take snaps while I'm out and about, check the news/weather/traffic reports, and a million other things
Olly
I was the same - wouldn't be without mine now.
