Egluntyne
Have just glanced up to see a young fox sitting looking at the hens, and all eight of the hens looking back at him. I went out to chase him away and got within about 10 feet of him before he scarpered. He is obviously used to people as he didn't budge until I shouted. There is a local nutter who feeds them, she makes a song and dance about buying chicken breasts and leaving them on her patio for them...so I am blaming her. Is it any wonder that we see rats from time to time? He was very beautiful, with the biggest ears imaginable! It's a pity I didn't have my camera in my pyjama pocket! Kathy C
I am glad he did no harm. It does sound as if you and the hens were as curious about him as he was about you.
Lesley
They are beautiful, aren't they? Let's hope he just goes off to where his meat is already waiting for him
Snowy
Doesn't sound like your chooks were too bothered by him at least!
Cinnamon
Isn't it a shame that something so beautiful can be so destructive? I rarely see a fox here, but its always a thrill when I do, despite the potential harm it may do. At least your girls weren't too bothered
Olly
better to know that he's around ... at least you won't take any risks! I can't help admiring the very fit and handsome looking dog-fox that comes into my garden, even though I wish he wasn't there.

The Dogmother
You on the right thread Gina??? Made me laugh Egluntine - glad i'm not the only one doing a crazed harpy impression in the garden in my PJs I love seeing foxes, especially the young ones, but don't like to see them in towns and get cross when people feed them.
