gavclojak
Hi, my girls are currently on marriages mash and have just moved to this from ex batts crumb and I have to say I don't like it, the ladies make one hell of a mess with it seem to pick out all the goodies and just look at the dusty bits left! I don't want to keep changing their feed but having seen a mouse in the enclosure(dispute removing the food containers overnight) I am a tad freaked out and also I think you can get pellets with flubenvet combined...happy days...my question is, are any pellets better than others and will the girls have any problems going from one to then other? coco
Pellets are definately less messy than mash and I think they are all roughly the same price. I use fancy feed pellets purely because they are a small pellet and are easier for my bantams, I also feed marriages. Some brands seem to be liked better than others, they really don't like Dodson and Horrell but will eat them under sufferance.
Egluntyne
I can't be doing with the mess that mash makes. Mine have pellets.
Olly
Ditto. I have never, ever known my hens to refuse pellets, and these days they get whatever is cheapest. Whenever I get a new bag of feed, I mix some new and old together for a day or two - even if it's the same brand - because I think the old ones must taste a bit different by the time they get to the end of the bag. Patricia W
Pellets for me and my hens too. Much less messy than mash. I stick with the ex-bat pellets for all of them, even the non-ex-bats (if you know what I mean..)
The Dogmother
Mine usually have pellets, but I get them the odd bag of mash every now and then... it does make a mess but I take the feeder out until they've cleared up all that they've spilt. Chickabee
Mine have pellets. Mash is too messy and they can become fussy. I feed the marriages with flubenvent every 6 months for worming, they don't need it more often than that. The fancy feed is good for every day use I don't get any waste with that.
