daxigirl
I know people have asked before but how do I stop her. She's becoming a pest to the others. It's not just treading if you catch my drift. They try and avoid her. She's never really got the hang of laying and hasn't bothered for most of last year and this. She doesn't crow and hasn't changed in appearance. I'm sure it's a dominance thing but she's really tearing the feathers out of the backs of the others. Are there hormone treatments you can give a chicken? Would isolating her fix the issue? Can't do a LF cock bird though unfortunately.
Plum
She could have her ovaries removed but would be very placid and probably bullied. I wouldn't do that and I don't think it justifies a hormone implant. But you know how much distress there is with your girls, perhaps it's better to rehome her
Egluntyne
You could protect the other hens by putting poultry saddles in them. Has she ever laid?
miller30
Put her in a pie I know you wouldn't do that leanne
daxigirl
Oh yes the first year she did but far from prolific I think about 60. Leanne your so naughty, I know I sing the "I'm gonna eat you little chickie song" to her but I don't mean it. I just wish she be a hen and stop messing up everyone else's back feathers. They were originally a meat bird in France as it's nice and white. I think I'll try penning her off for a bit.

Chickabee
I get "you and your chickens" magazine. There is actually an advert for the flourescent jackets in there. It's so funny, just looks like a spoof. Picture of a woman thinking "are my chickens going to be ok crossing the road". Bizarre !
