Anyone still getting eggs from their bantams ?

Recommended Posts

I was expecting my girls to have stopped laying for the Winter by now really, but today as with yesterday, and some days from last week, I have found eggs in the egg port

I'm pretty certain it is Suzie laying the eggs - no doubt to make up for all the days she spent being broody in the Summer

Well I got another egg today  Totally amazed...but she did spend alot of the summer broody  Let's not think about broodiness yet hey? Although, I did joke with the kids the other day that this summer I'll need more anti-broody cages with the 6 girls now and may have to stack them up in the run and call it "broody towers!":roll::wink:

No, nothing here for ages, my sablepoot laid very briefly in the summer, stopped then laid 6 eggs in November, the rest stopped in Oct (some earlier). I did get my three Sussex girls to keep me supplied with some eggs over the winter, they were the first to stop, despite having early moults in August, and being rude with health. I am not best pleased and have had words with them! Just have to wait until February I guess :(

Well I thought the broody business was starting again today, so I carefully popped Suzie in the run and left her to it.

A bit later I could hear a commotion and thought I'd better make sure the girls were ok, then I realised Suzie was singing her egg song, and there in the egg box was a lovely little egg :clap::clap:
