Xmas prezzie ideas - for the woman who has everything?

Recommended Posts

You Omleteers are a resourceful and imaginative bunch, so I thought I'd beg you for ideas/inspiration

I'm not one of those clever people who have lovely imaginative ideas for presents at the best of times, but usually get by with something 'ok'

This year I'm stumped for ideas for a close friend. In a nutshell she's single, has her own home and pretty much all the 'usual' stuff she needs. She now works in an airport so can get bargain booze/fragrance etc so my failsafe of posh alcohol is out.

I've trawled the interweb and drawn a blank.

Help?

Can you offer her a "service" of some sort. Last Christmas I bought my (very rich) Sister and brother-in-law a cake tin with a voucher inside which gave them a home made cake (baked by me) of their choice every month for 2013. They were thrilled and have very much enjoyed it this year, choosing a different cake each month.

Even if you have no particular craft or baking skills perhaps you could give her a voucher with a few hours of gardening, dog walking, spring cleaning..........

Agree with Chickendoddle it's that sort of money can't buy present.Something homemade,a collage of all your photo together ? A CD or download of all her fav songs that she hasn't had time to do, a nice drive out,a long chatty walk and lunch, just that making time.Life can be so hectic we forget to make time for friends.

A nice foodie hamper - put together by you in a nice basket? Posh biccies, posh ground coffee & a mini cafetiere plus a nice mug & some coffee flavoured syrup ( vanilla or similar ). I've pinched this idea from my sister who went into Whittard yesterday & did similar. Looks a lovely prezzie for a bit of self indulgence!

Or buy her a nice manicure voucher. Put together with an easy listening CD - lovely!

Take her out for a meal & you pay.

A magazine subscription.

Just trying to think of things a single person would like????

I have asked OH for Inspiritus for Christmas as they last for ages and permeate the whole house!

The Scented Candle Shop (online) sells St Eval or you can, I think, buy direct......we visited them in Cornwall; a few sheds in a tiny village and they were hand pouring the scented candles from an ole aluminium teapot! Mind you that was a few years ago so I expect they have moved on somewhat!!

Seasalt smells EXACTLY like the sea 8)

Scented candle/ St Eval do some FAB ones; esp Inspiritus for Winter. I love these so much and they are pretty reasonable too and not full of chemicals. Sea salt is wonderful and smells just like a beach walk!

Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation Soapy. I was buying some RHS Vanilla and Cinnamon diffuser refill from Scented Candle Shop and, following your recommendation, I added a few St Eval products to my basket. They arrived today, and I'm really pleased with them.

I normally avoid scented candles as they always smell too artificial/overpowering to me, but you're right, the St Eval ones don't seem too chemically.

Thanks again

Glad that you like them! 8) They have just brought out a new one called Embers which is supposed to small just like an open fire! I have smelt the unburned scent - really nice and quite different (having bought one for OH for Xmas - it being a blokey sort of scent) and am looking forward to burning it!
