How old might a lilac Eglu classic be? I can't remember seeing them on the website, so when were they being sold? I am considering buying another Eglu, to use as an additional nest box and have seen a lilac one.

If anyone has one they are selling (without a run)..........then pm me.

They are a mark 2 from about 6 or so years ago (that's a rough guess at the time). That was a guest colour at the time, but it didn't last as some folks found it hard to keep clean.

Thanks, I thought it was pretty old. I have just bought a Go from Omlet's clearance stock, it doesn't have a run which is fine, I will adapt it to add more nesting areas.

I'm pretty sure the lilac came out just after I had purchased my pink one. I was not amused, as I really would have preferred a lilac one

Actually, Clare, you are not as far out as you think I just found a discussion on here from 2008 and there were still lilac cubes available then. I believe the thread said it was a guest colour and 100 of each were made. So, your guess at 6 or so years ago was not incorrect

That'll be a first - it was a total guess. Wasn't that about the time they brought out the vile poo-brown one?

Think it was intended to be thought of as more of a chocolate colour?

 

I do believe it was one of the colours available when I bought my first Eglu in April/May 2006. I think they were pink, blue, green, brown and orange, with maybe purple as well. I do believe the red and yellow were on the way out at that point though, with the brown one not far behind? Sadly, I think I have the original brochure somewhere.....

Purple was later - I think it might even have come later than the lilac/brown colours. It certainly wasn't around when I got my orange classic in 2005, that was one of the first waves of mark 2 eglus.

Purple was around in 2008 when we got ours.

Mine is lilac

I love it - a giant lilac flower amongst the winter gloom.

I got mine almost 5 years ago - for my 40th birthday in February - so guess how old I will be soon
