Me too until I hear something like this, thankfully she's fine now. It is heartbreaking to hear your sporty child ask 'will I be able to run again Mum?'

I signed. I knew a child who survived a cycling accident ONLY because she was wearing her helmet. The neurosurgeons were in no doubt about what the outcome would have been had she not been wearing one.

Update:

Success! Tomorrow Russell will wear his helmet, and hopefully will continue to do so for the rest of his successful career in teeth. Thank you for saving his life.

Great news, got the update on my news feed, you can't argue with a majority verdict.

 

My hairdresser's son suffered serious head injuries in a cycling accident and he was wearing a helmet. He made a good recovery fortunately. The consultant at the hospital he was in said that they referred to cyclists without helmets as organ donors, that says it all really.
