I have just come in from cleaning out the run attached to my classic. It's static and has a membrane and sand, topped with aubiose. What a chore . I had to lay on the ground and stretch myself out. I am not the most svelt of girls or agile  . The run is well and truly part of the grass and can't be moved. Anyone got any tips, or do you all do the army style belly scramble :?:

I have not got a classic but a large coup and a small dog kennel for extras.I use a childs rake .Start at the back and rake every thing to the front ,which is then scooped straight into a square box the length of the opening .

I then use a mop with a sawn off handle to get in corners to wash them..

Hope this helps.

I too used to wave a rake about, getting it trapped in the wire grrrr, it was easier for me to undo the house and lift the run off cos my arms were to short to get even half way up, I always thought something like a snow shovel would be good but the shovel part can't fit through the door  I used to spend soo much on biodri and fresh aubiose.

I'd buy a Classic run with side opening doors too, or one with a larger end door perhaps. Why did they make the end door so small?

I've recently added an extension to our Classic run and, as that area is wider than the rest, it makes it easier to climb in. I climb in every day and clear out the poo - I have the run on a permanent spot with membrane and gravel base, with the chucks free-ranging in the garden when I'm home.

I love how easy to clean the Classic house is, but really hadn't bargained for how hard it is to clean the run area!!! I can't remove mine from the house, as it is all pretty old and the joining bits are getting rusty.
