To an iPad? Impossible. You have to do it through a computer as the ios is really locked down

When I backed up my iPad as I thought I was about to lose all my photos I somehow transferred all the photos from my pc onto it! It is quite nice, but I am now limited to how many I can have on it due to storage space. I do know I can save photos onto my iPad by clicking on the picture until a box comes up with save image and something else and it saves them to my photo stream. Maybe uploading them to photobucket and then clicking on them to add to your photo stream would work, but I don't know as I haven't done this before.

I've got one of those adapters too, they work really well. Just a tip though, if like me you sit with your ipad on your knee, when you connect the adapter, turn ur ipad around so the adapter is at the top of the screen. Mine kept getting disrupted by my belly

It's not impossible. I've got a device that plugs into my ipad and has an SD reader in it. Transfers all your photos from SD card to ipad. Think I got it from amazon

Only thing I found is that the photos eat your memory. Depending on what type of camera you have. Great if you want to show them to people when you're out and about though, and they are easy to delete again. Good luck

Impossible without an adapter or a computer

Yes Fred, unless you have a Bluetooth or wifi camera, it's impossible to transfer your photo's to anything without an adapter

Fred, you were right. Just found an SD slot on my laptop. Only had it 5 years , and I thought I was good with technology

Certainly not impossible! The iPad adapter is excellent, I use it a lot when on holiday to view my photos. You can buy non-Apple ones on Amazon which are a lot cheaper.

 

Another option is to use a NAS drive at home, bit more complicated but well worth it. I upload all my pictures to the NAS and can then view (or transfer) them on my iPad, Android phone and laptop.

There's an app I bought from the app store called Simple Transfer (think it cost about £1.50) which can expose images in the form of a web page on your network - you could transfer between an iphone and an ipad that way.

 

I bought it to transfer images off when I moved iphone (it's quite difficult otherwise if you have your images in a user-created gallery rather than the standard 'photos' gallery!)
