dipsychick
hi my pekins all hop up the ladder to the cube fine and take off from the top flapping and fluttering but all manage well , I did place a large log at the bottom to help them get up the ladder . mimi5
My lot of pekins couldn't manage the ladder after being in a wooden coop with ramp style ladder Determined not to have any wood near my cube let alone inside the run (bad redmite experience!!) I put some stiff green garden mesh over the ladder and cable tied it on. They were fine after that shuffling up and down If you search there should be a post on here about it and even a photo See how they go, but it's good to have a back up plan
Valkyrie
We made a wooden ramp which is tied over the cube ladder. But it was for the orpies and not the pekins. With the old wooden roosting bars and spare wooden roosting bars, I cut one in half and suspended the larger one closer to the cube on old electrical wire and the smaller bar also suspended but a bit further along and they like to sit on there and sometimes use those as their queuing system to go to bed. Despite their little legs they can ping up quite easily. Mini would easily flap up and sit on the top of the eglu run so I know they can manage to get up a ramp that is lower!
