Princess Leia
We've had a Brabantia one for about four years - very solid and robust, with a good warranty. Got it from John Lewis who do their own range of similar bins. If you go for a Brabantia one, Amazon sell the bulk packs of size-specific bags that fit each one precisely. ES has a Simple Human one that's been good too.
Beantree
We have a stainless steel Brabantia 30Litre. It has a 10 year guarantee. Had it for about 4 years now without problems. Can't remember how much it was though, but it wasn't cheap. Obviously you have to pay extra for quality like that. The spring loaded full size lid is a great feature, far better than the cheap hinged ones that you struggle to get stuff through.
The Dogmother
A recent thread on the lurcher forum for lurcher-proof bins (they are notorious thieves) concluded that the Simple Human ones were best. Mine is a tiny Brabantia pedal bin, bought for a tenner when Hoods of Banbury closed down, the lurcher proof element is a brick on the top. I could never be accused of being classy

bluekarin
My friend has a cockapoo who has worked out how to open her touch top bin! She has come home to several messes She now, when she remembers, turns the bin around so she can't open it. Back to bins. I have a Brabantia pedal bin, 30l and you need to press the pedal quite hard to open the top. The last bin we bought, when we first got together over 18 years ago, was a plastic Addis one for about a tender, so it was a huge shock to see just how much bins go for nowadays! We had a Brabantia bin like that. And it drove me to distraction. In the end it sported a large dent in its side we replaced it with an equally expensive but far superior Simple Human butterfly top bin. Personally it put me off Brabantia but I may just have been unlucky.
LolaLayla
I bought a stupidly expensive Simple Human one about 8 years ago but it has been one of my better purchases and I still love it Good grief that sounds a bit sad! Did I really say I loved a bin Must be a sign of advanced middle age
lillybettybabs
I have ordered this one below, I know Dylan will work it with his big nose but i like the idea of a very large none touch bin and a good offer price. I do like the Simple Living ones but couldn't bring myself to fork out for one when saving up for new carpets. http://www.mybathroom.co.uk/ab58lma-58l-stainless-steel-auto-sensor-kitchen-waste-dust-bin.html
Mercedes55
I like the look of the simple human bins, then I clicked on the link for the mirrors and fell in love with the illuminated ones, good job they are out of stock as they are expensive
