Cinnamon
Did anyone else find themselves turning gree with envy at the gorgeous tomatoes jamie Oliver harvested from his garden in his new show the other night? I have room for only 6 plants in my greenhouse, & generally stick to "SUNGOLD" which is a wonderfully sewwt orange cherry tomato. But I am thinking of trying some of the otheres now - the stripey ones look fab, as do the plum shaped ones. I will have far too many seeds just for us.....maybe we could start up an exotic tomato seed swap?
Egluntyne
Good idea.....they looked gorgeous. Anyone any idea what the varieties were?
Guest
Good idea Sarah I have to admit, those tomatoes looked gorgeous, I liked the look of the purple ones and those huge orange ones, really mouth watering:D Did you like the format of the programme, I'm not too sure yet, but will definitely watch again
Cinnamon
Its all about courgettes next week, so I HAVE to watch, just to get some new ideas about what to do with the darn things (its annula courgette glut time here ) I did like the show. I am cooking the sausage ragu tonight I think the stripey ones are called Tigerella, or something???
Mel (& Paul)
ALL our tomatoes have got some sort of blight - and I read that there is a lot of it about not helped by the wet humid summer

Mel (& Paul)
Yup he's a lucky chap isnt he - I know he works hard, but some of his good fortune seem to be as a result of him being the right person in the right place at the right time. I'm not envious Not much well, maybe just a little
Dancing Gal
My tomatoes got blight - All those months of nurturing wasted. I've got a lovely new greenhouse now so that's where they will stay next year. I have some very interested varieties to sow in the new year. Including blue ones from the Eden project. yum yum
The Dogmother
Mine are just succumbing to blight, so I'll have to take the toms off and ripen them inside - is there anything we can do to avoid blight?
ubereglu
Not really Claret, it'd due to the damp weather, it made it humid and that's what they don't like! Mine have a weird sort of blight, but they're still growing and there are still healthy stems.
superjules
I didn't see the program but the stripey ones are probably tigerella. They're great, loads of them and really tasty. Plus they're quite decorative too. I grew them for the first time this year and they were one of my best results.
