Lavenders_Blue
....to find this in the nest box Even after nearly 5 years of keeping chickens, the excitement of getting a full house of eggs doesn't lessen. Especially when one of the girls is one of my original hens and an ex batt to boot. And I got 5 eggs yesterday too Extra treats all round, I think

Lavenders_Blue
They generally all weigh between 65-70g, so really nice sized eggs! Bella's eggs are often a bit larger (with lovely large yolks, due to her being an old lady ) but the shells are usually paper thin so weigh about the same as the rest. Often her eggs don't make it out of the nest box intact, so I'm thrilled to have had two in a row!
Luvachicken
Such a beautiful collection of eggs. I am very, very envious. I haven't had any eggs in days

Awww thank you Lavenders Blue. I'd already looked today when I got in and there were no eggs. I sent hubby later and he said "they did lay you a poo" Lovely, just what I need

I will make the most of it while it lasts.
Lavenders_Blue
Yes we have to make the most of it, I will miss those beautiful eggs when the girls have their winter egg holiday!
Purplemaniacs
Well done L_B's girls. Full house is always exciting I think. One of my hybrids doesn't lay anymore but my ex bat lays most days. The bantams don't lay so regularly so never get a full house now but I love it if I collect a handful of eggs. Chrissie
