savena5630
I've just seen a fox grab one of my girls whilst they were free ranging in the garden, managed to run down and scare it off, and he dropped her, but am worried about any injuries she may have incurred. She has only lost two feathers and seems a bit dishevelled, but she does not appear to have any obvious injuries. Does anyone have any tips or ideas how to best keep her comfortable/calm to ensure that she recovers from the shock? They are safely back in the eglu now!! Thanks
gavclojak
If it were me I would put her in a well ventilated dark cardboard box and keep her somewhere warm. Give her a quick check over then just let her be. Shock is the biggest thing to worry about so keep her warm, quiet and dark. See if she wants to eat something a bit later or maybe tomorrow, but that's what I would try. You were very lucky indeed!! X

X Yes I agree and I would keep your girls locked up now for a while as it will be back Leanne.
LunaKiw1
We had same experience and Daisy was dropped when my OH raced out and scared the fox off. She just shook her feathers and trundled back inside the WIR. We did bring her inside though for a few hours of quiet but put her back with her two sisters for the night. She suffered no ill effects at all which seemed like a miracle but I know some folk have found that they can suffer bruised necks and go a bit floppy so you will need to keep an eye on her. Fingers crossed she's a lucky girl though!
