SarahGlymond
Hi guys was wondering what time peoples chickens go to bed?? I only have two and Elizabeth goes to bed at 830pm or just after. Is this too early is there anything I can do to try and keep her out longer ?? Its still light in fact I think in winter she went to bed later than this it doesn't make sense. Frances my other chook stays out a bit longer but as Elizabeth is top chook Frances doesn't like to be too far away from her. Also Frances is becoming really clingy to Elizabeth so when Elizabeth is laying Frances sits inside the house until she is finished. I feel sorry for her as at the moment she is missing out on lovely sunny weather until Elizabeth has layed and missing out following her to bed really early !!! if I go out into the garden Frances will come out of the house and wander round the garden with me is she lonely ?? If I get another chook will that give franny a friend and maybe give her more confidence to stay out longer??? Help guys im confused Edited July 14, 2014 by Guest
Luvachicken
Hi Sarah My girls go to bed about 7.30pm at the moment. I often think they have gone to bed early as it's still light but I guess they have decided it is dark enough to go to bed. My original Omlet girls used to go to bed at 9.30pm in the summer - quite late really. I guess it just depends on the girls themselves Don't forget that you would have to buy Frances 2 new friends as it is often difficult introducing just 1. Chickabee
Your cube and run is easily big enough for four. Mine all go to bed at different times. Sometimes I think it's to get the best spot
