Think that's perhaps a good choice then but need to do a bit of swatting up and infrastructure changes first to make them safe and comfortable they cant all sit around on my desk, not if they are as untidy as Ninja, my last desk monitor had OCD and constantly tidied up after me picking everything up and giving it to me to put away like a nagging mother

Silkies are sweeties..but they aren't particularly reliable layers as they go broody so much

 

You don't have to get two girls of the same breed, you could always get a silkie and a completely different bantam breed (assuming your chap does turn out to be a pekin bantam, and not just a 10 week old baby large fowl).

With regards to earlier in the post about keeping bantam cockerels in built up areas we have a barbu d ucckle bantam cockerel and we have neighbours on three sides. Inch isn't very loud and doesn't really crow that much unless there is someone in the garden he does not know then he lets rip. He is mainly quiet until I let him out and no one has complained about him in three years (touchwood). You might get lucky with Ninja and he will be fairly quiet. Well done on everything you are doing for him, he's a lucky chook
