SueChick
Honestly this year is challenging me with new problems all the time. This time is a Huge slug problem in the grubs - I have thrown down loads of bird grit to reduce the problem and it works for a while but this morning all the pellets were absolutely covered in yucky slug slime! The girls were eating them as usual and now I'm worried if this is dangerous for them? Do other people have this issue? What should I do? mullethunter
I have a hanging galvanised feeder and somehow the slugs still get in there. I've seen the Pekins eating slime covered pellets and there don't seem to have been any adverse affects. I bring the Wyandottes' grub in at night so I don't go out in the morning and find slugs inside it.
acw295
My girls sometimes eat the slugs.....doesn't seem to do them any harm! I wouldn't worry too much
jesschicken24
My girls are often eat slugs and snails, it can make their poos a bit runny but it won't hurt them. The only thing that worries me is the wet weather has brought loads of giant slugs, they are really horrible. My boyfriends mum has been lobbing them over the fence to get rid of them which is really funny!

jesschicken24
My boyfriend's mum just told me that she puts vaseline on her plant pots to keep them away and it seems to work.
