Jangle
I remember all the words to the theme tune of Fireball XL5: I wish I were a spaceman, the fastest guy alive. I'd ride around the Universe in Fireball XL5. I also loved Stingray and really wanted to be Marina - It must have been the green hair I think. Space 1999 and UFO were firm favourites, as was Survivors when I was a little older. Bryan the snail is my favourite Magic Roundabout character, and Sage from The Herbs. SarahJo
And I used to like Mr Ben - was it Sarah who didn't like him? yep that was me, something about a man, constantly getting changed kind of spooked me , still does for that matter . Emily's birthday cake for the bowling party tomorrow has Dougal on it......... Nicola, Happy Birthday to Emily, tomorrow. Bens freind had a Dougal cake, when they shared a party .. Ben had the Large smartie one, so the kids had plain and choc cake in the take home bags . Enjoy the Bowling ...

Blackrat
I hope this works. Bleow should be some links that will take you to some sound files http://uk.geocities.com/blackrat779/fbxl5.wav http://uk.geocities.com/blackrat779/joe90.wav http://uk.geocities.com/blackrat779/ufo.wav http://uk.geocities.com/blackrat779/champion.wav Stuart
Lesley
Stuart - I would love to try those but we have a problem with sound at the moment and as Carl doesn't need sound to finish clients accounts but he does need to finish them it will have to wait. (and while I love all other sorts of DIY - my version of mending computers requires use of a hammer! )
Sheilaz
Amazing thanks...only managed to get Champion, but that was the one I was interested in. Took me right back. Thanks Blackrat
Blackrat
I've just tried the links myself and had the same problem. I will try and fix it, but it may be tomorrow the alcohol is about to kick in (well it will once I've poured it ) BTW how do you send personal messages? I have one ready to go in my outbox, but I can't send it Cheers Stuart
Sheilaz
Well, all I did was to look at a posting by the person you want to receive the PM, and click on the PM symbol at the bottom of their posting. The message box pops up and when you have typed it, press submit. I'm not sure that it disappears from your outbox at that stage..but I think it does confirm that the message was submitted. It may work just by re-doing if it didn't go. I'll send you a practice one, so I can remember.
Sheilaz
OK....my 1st one didn't go....then I retyped & added a subject title too (don't know if that matters) It does tell you if its sent successfully
Lesley
Stuart If the message is in your Outbox all it means is that the person you are sending it to hasn't yet opened it! Sheila did that to me the other day - I sent her three!!! When they have opened it it goes in to your 'Sentbox' Sometimes if you send a PM to someone you think is on line and wonder why you don't get a reply it can be:- 1. They were in the middle of typing a reply to a post and the only way they can continue is to close the pop-up message box, continue with the post they are typing and then hopefully they will remember to go and look at the message! (some of us don't remember ) Or.... 2. The five minute delay in refreshing means that their name is showing as still logged in but they have in fact gone off to make a cup of tea! They will find it next time they login. Hope this helps I have copied this into 'Need Help Using the Forum?'

The next programmes that really sprang to mind were; "Belle & Sebastian".....and I desperately wanted a dog (have still never had one) "Champion the wonder horse"........... & "White Horses"...................... yes, I really wanted to ride horses (but didn't learn till 36 by which time terrified and completely unnatural at it) I've got the theme tunes rushing through my head now, Sheila! I'd forgotten them all!! What about The Flashing Blade on a Saturday morning? Badly dubbed Zorro style adventure series???
Mrs Frugal
Stuart, I've just spotted the Joe 90 link - fantastic series!! Loved it to bits! I'd love to see that again. I can still remember the theme music and those fantastic glasses! Oh the memories,...............
Lesley
And the Two Ronnies are coming back - and Doctor Who. Carl is a Docter Who fanatic and has all manner of original boxed Daleks and scarves and books and games. He has a T Shirt he wore when 14 and he went to a Doctor Who exhibition in London - I found it this morning when clearing out his wardrobe and it looks like it would fit Lauren! Aaaah! (I put it back- carefully!)
Nicola H
Better not throw that one out Lesley or you will be in trouble........... I was one of those children who hid behind the settee when the daeks came on. My brother used to chase me round the room pretending to be a dalek it has scarred me for life, don't think I will be able to watch the new series without therapy................ Mrs Frugal
I don't remember being terribly scared by the Daleks but the one which drove me behind the sofa was The Green Death! I still get the collywobbles thinking about that episode !
Karen1
I used to be terrified of daleks too when I was a kid. I wonder why we felt safe hiding behind the sofa?
Sheilaz
Dr.Who was one of the best programmes at the time! But I also remember being hooked on Space Family Robinson, couldn't wait for the next episode!
Jangle
Kate - Was the green death the one about the maggot things and the green slime in the welsh mines? If it was I still remember it vividly. Daleks too, and Ice Warriors, and Cybermen.......
Lesley
Janet - Carl says yes it was the one with the maggots - with John Pertwee as Dr.Who
Sheilaz
Well, I had my first crush on Frazer Hines (Jamie in Dr.Who)..don't know why I'm admitting that, but OH does know!
Mrs Frugal
Janet - that's the one and I still remember it vividly too! There was some scary music that went with the green slime and the maggots and I used to hide when I heard it!
