moochoo
I've just had my girls today....I would advise a good breakfast before they arrive all that chicken watching makes you forget to eat. Apart from that a comfy spot to watch them from and after today a waterproof jacket!! Just go with the flow and have a great day!
arowland17
we were told to keep them in the eglu for 1-2 hours after they arrived so they can calm down after the journey and so they know where to go to roost then let them out - seemed to work for ours they went to bed all on their own from day 1 although that may have just been good luck! UkButton
Get the sweetcorn at the ready they'll be eating out of your hand in minutes... Slight warning on the sweetcorn front I believe its listed as a class A substance for chickens!
farrowy
My girlies arrived 2 weeks ago. The Omlet bloke showed us how to pick them up and hold them (although I haven't attempted this again since), he cut their wings while I held them. Then he popped them into the run. They were absolutely fine - a bit nervey at first. I ended up working on my laptop for the rest of the afternoon next to the run!! Then in the evening I tried to hand feed them a few different treats - and yep they are BIG sweetcorn fans They go NUTS for it!!!! At bedtime they were very good and popped themselves off the bed It was a fab day !! ENJOY!!!!!!
arowland17
We found ourselves sat on chairs next to the run just watching them!! lol looked like we were settled down at the cinema or something but it's so lovely watching them explore the run for the first time, could watch them all day! Mel (& Paul)
Glass of champagne to celebrate your new arrivals (why do you think we keep on adding to our number ) And dont worry about practicing the chicken dance - it'll come naturally when the chooks arrive
