Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I just did my first ever crochet with plarn!

 

Plarn you ask? Well plarn is recycled plastic yarn, made from shopping bags. (Well mine is made from new bin bags since I do all my shopping with a bunch of (Omlet!!!) cotton bags.)

 

I'm attempting an underwater scene with plarn fish and plants, in a large glass vase.

 

 

It looks rather complicated but it's dead easy. Maybe even easier to crochet with than ordinary yarn. I really quite liked it. Here is the pattern!

Goodness, I remember my mum learning to make a crocheted shopping bag from supermarket bags many years ago, didn't know it had a name though. I'm afraid we all laughed at her making one bag from loads of others .

Hopefully your bin bags won't biodegrade like shopping bags are designed to these days.

These are the sturdy non biodegradeble plastic type. makes for much cheaper yarn too!

Now busy crocheting a base, from which I can build the underwater plants. The vase it will go under is rather large. My circle is now 150 dc round... And I still need to increase it at least a few cm in diameter!
