Luvachicken
Thanks mullethunter. I will give mine some as I'm still not sure Gemma's crop is 100% either.
mullethunter
After being fine for the last 3 days and this morning, when I got home from work Bernie was poorly again. So we went to the vets. The vet was very good, checked crop, smelled breath, felt abdomen, listened to chest, and said there's nothing apparently wrong with her. She said she suspects it may be pain caused by ovulation or another part of the egg production process!
Cat tails
I bet it's the egg turning bit! Looked plainful in the animation alone!
mimi5
Well at least you know now The mystery of why the symptoms came and went solved Did the vet offer any suggestions for Bernie? Or is it just the way it's going to be?
mullethunter
She said if it is pain the only way to ease it in a chicken is by injecting painkillers. She suggested I think about it for a while but bearing in mind it's quite expensive and not easy I'll only go down that route if it happens more frequently or is worse. Luvachicken
I'm glad she is ok. It is reassuring when the vet tells us that they are fine, if a little expensive.
