Alis girls
Anybodys kids used one of the companies who set up paying of all utilities in a shared house? What are pitfalls and any recommended ones and ones to avoid please. My friends son in Kent has set one up but she couldnt remember name. Sounded a good idea to avoid problems. I know Omleters are a wise bunch. Thanks Ali x
Geoid
Nearly everyone at uni used Glide (glide.co.uk). Very easy to use and set up. However, make sure you double check your gas and electricity readings regularly as you might get stung with a large bill at the end of the month. Lewis
We were all set up and ready to go with Glide for our second year house but were put off and told not to go with them due to high costs and other reasons, I can't remember why now... To be honest it was really easy to just get the bills and split it (8 ways in our case) but can see the benefits and ease.
ubereglu
I must admit, I've tended to just give money to the bill payer by bank transfer, but most of the bills are usually combined (eg, gas and electric), and water is included with rent for our house, with the only other bill being for internet, so there's never been too many to make it worth it. However I do see the attraction of glide though, despite the slightly greater cost.
Alis girls
Thanks - I'd forgotten I had posted this. Will look thro this - although they have to sort it themselves.
chickencam
My ED and her flat mates took a utility each and paid each other by bank transfer but there were only three of them so it was easier. They also did grocery shopping online and did a shop roughly once a week taking it in turns. There were a few tiffs about bread and pasta usage but it worked pretty well. They bought anything personal to them like luxury toiletries and alcohol separately. They used most of the supmarkets and managed to get regular discount codes and free delivery.
