izemum
Hi, Do any of you have multiple colours? Can I get some advice as to which colour weathers the best - Green or purple would be my first choice but I have seen a lot of faded green cubes on ebay. Do all colours fade so much? Thanks! Bramble
I have a purple cube and a purple classic - classic was new when I had it, the cube was a reconditioned one from Omlet - I don't think either has faded particularly badly - the insides still look much the same colour as the outside, as far as I can tell! The Omlet sunshades tend to fade terribly though!
Ain't Nobody Here
I have a blue and a green eglu (although I think blue is discontinued now) which are both over 5 years old. Both colours look pretty much the same as new apart from a few scratches (my fault) and a thick layer of dust (the hens' fault)!
Purplemaniacs
I have a purple eglu classic and cube both from new 7 years old now and a second hand purple eglu classic. They all seem to have kept their colour well. Today I cleaned a green classic eglu ready for my ex batts that one I bought second hand a couple of years ago but have never used it until now, that definitely has faded as around the door opening which is normally protected by the door is some shades darker. It still looks good but not as dark a shade as it was originally. Chrissie
Cat tails
It depends on what you're getting. I think the Go does fade faster than the Cube/Classic.

The Dogmother
Purple in the classic/cube doesn't fade. i would avoid the Go!
izemum
How about Red cubes? Does anyone know if they fade?
The Dogmother
I know someone with a red classic, which has faded; as they are made from the same material, I think its reasonable to assume that the cube might too. It would all depend on the amount of sunlight where you situate it though.... it's not advisable to keep chickens in direct, full sunlight, so if you position your housing in dappled light, then it is less likely to be affected.
