I've been avoiding posting on that thread recently because I simply don't know

I'd love to come, can't tell you how much, but I've got so much on at the moment that I can't really spare the time, and financially we've spent so much that it's hard to justify the expense, petrol etc. It's also around 21/2 hrs drive from here and I really can't afford to stay overnight anywhere, so I'd have to come straight back on the same day. Hubby thinks I'm mad to even be thinking about 5 hours drive and a tank of petrol just for a lunch and a chinwag with friends.

We are Coming!! and it's several hours drive for us after the final leg of the flight from Amsterdam!

 

I checked the quickest way to Oxford using one of those travel thingy's on tinter web sponsored by the airlines no doubt. Anyway we have to get to Teesside Airport to fly to London Heathrow in order to catch a flight to Glasgow, stop for breakfast before flying on to Amsterdam in order to fly to East Midlands where we pick up the hire car to do the final leg.

 

I have exaggeratted a tiny amount but it was nearly as ridiculous. Anyway we decided to go via Tamworth by second class post instead!
