zoeftm
Hello I've been given a chicken to foster -she was found as a stray and so far no one has claimed her. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort she is? She's very big! I e only had ex batts before now so haven't got a clue about breeds! Thanks ! http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj313/zoeftm/Mobile%20Uploads/image.jpeg[/img

Cat tails
Verry pretty though, but is she not a he? Looking at the very pointed back and neck feathers?
Charlottechicken
Looks like a Heinz 57 cockerel to my untrained eyes too.
mullethunter
I'd say cockerel too.
sjp
cross breed cockerel probably 2 or 3 years old but I think he'd have been a good looking lad in his prime. he could have some maran based hybrid in the mix
jimnpaula
I'm afraid I'm going for 'chap' as well due to the pointy neck and saddle/back feathers.
Grandmashazzie
Yes does look a mix, poor fella. You may well have your answer tomorrow morning. Your new alarm.
zoeftm
Thank you so much Percy and Cat tails for making my pic appear! And everyone else for your replies. Re: Bertha being a bloke........noooooooooooooo :-0 I live in a 3 bed semi in suburbia...I don't think a cockerel will go down well with my neighbours ! He didn't crow this morning so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that either you are all mistaken (no offence lol) , or he is so old his crowing days are over. I will let you know what happens in the morning .... Thanks Zoe X
Cat tails
It will be a wait and see I guess. But this explains why he was straying... Might just be dumped, because he is a bloke. I guess Bertha will be Bert. He is a lovely looking boy.
