patsylabrador
I have not found a moisturiser that works for lots of years. They mostly leave my skin looking lined and older and so I've used green avocado oil which works like a dream. But I'm very excited about the new one I'm trying, it's unrefined, pure avocado oil and it makes my skin look pretty good considering my age. It smooths out lots of the lumpy bumpy bits like on your brows. I'm no good at foundations so a good working moisturiser is very important. It's very thick and gloopy and goes on green but works into my skin quickly and lasts all day. I really love how it feels and just thought I'd recommend using unrefined avocado oil to anyone struggling to find a good moisturiser. patsylabrador
I forgot to add 'cold-pressed', it has to be as close to nature as nature intended. It doesn't claim to make you look younger or anything silly like that but it does claim to be gentle and kind to your skin.
Olly
I have very dry skin, and struggle to find something that won't trigger a rash so this is interesting. Where do you buy it?
soapdragon
You can't put up a post like this without giving away your source Anything that makes me look younger would be great.......I made pizza for the boys this afternoon and ES said 'Ma. you have flour in your hair' and went to brush it away. It wasn't flour but white hair
patsylabrador
Oh yes, I forgot that too. I ordered it through Amazon. The company is called Country Cosmetics. I bought a huge 1000ml bottle for around £15 - you can buy it in smaller quantities, I'm just greedy. The company has an almost delicious range of natural skincare and I want it all! Olly, I'm sure you'll find a combination to suit you, I've tried all sorts of oils and experimenting on different parts of your body is fun. My bathroom cupboard could be mistaken for a pantry sometimes.
patsylabrador
I couldn't resist and I had a token for my birthday so I ordered a small bottle of sea buckthorn oil and a large bottle of sweet almond. If you haven't tried it the almond oil is lovely in a bath.

patsylabrador
Did anyone get round to trying this? Did you like it or hate it? I'm very pleased with how it's going. As I mentioned the avocado oil goes on green but the sea buckthorn goes on a sort of turmeric yellow so I look a bit like a lizard before I rub them in. The sea buckthorn oil slightly stains my skin and the end result is like a tanning lotion but without the orangeness. I've added almond oil to the mix. What I especially like is that they could all be ingested so I feel confident working them into my skin. I've read a lot about how the liver has to deal with toxins absorbed through the skin which worried me. The main reason for this post is that my heels are looking really dreadful this year. They were fine all winter then as soon as I started wearing sandals they started to crack. I'm going to try Emu oil which sounds good and I was wondering if anyone else has tried it. Apparently it's good for damaged skin. It actually does come from emus! Who knew? Not me.
Ursula123
I swear by udder cream for cracked heels, I know it is recommended by Dr's for cracked skin after chemotherapy. It is a bit like petroleum jelly/vasoline in texture. You can buy it at animal stores like Countrywide, Mole Valley or the like.
Cinnamon
I have used facial oils as my night time moisturiser for years now. I like the Decleour ones best....never occurred to me to mix my own! I think they do my skin the power of good, plus they smell amazing, especially the Neroli one. I do not however use it in the morning, as it makes me 'glow' a little too much - I use No7 serum then. I also use an oil on my hair..L'Oreals extraordinary oil...& it is just fantastic I think that with skin care & hair care half the battle is finding the right combination of products & times to use them that work for you. Its taken me years to work out what my skin needs, although this is ever changing s I get older of course
soapdragon
For feet the absolute best thing that I have found is L'Occitane foot cream. Its wonderful stuff and I absolutely wouldn't be without it! Not totally natural but not full of chemicals like some creams. I also use it on my knees and elbows too, if they are a bit dry and crumbly
Cinnamon
The other thing I have discovered is Micellar Water - its a very pure cleanser & I was amazed at how much gunk it removed from what I thought was clean skin It is also totally non drying....the Garnier one is my favourite. In fact I saw today that they have bought out an oil one in the same range, which you shake to mix up...might have to try it (product junkie, me) I also tried Angela Langfords skincare recently & was impressed. You pay a small amount (about £4 or £5 I think), fill out a very detailed questionnaire, then she blends & sends you all these cute little samples to try out. They all smell wonderful & are pure & natural too. I think she was on Masterchef or something else I didn't watch. Nice personal touch with her actually prescribing the items for you based on the questionnaire
Alis girls
I got some to try on my frizzy locks. Will update later.
