Been to any good gigs lately?

We are still buzzing having seen Bruce Springsteen last night. The man is 66 and he was on stage for 2.5 hours and did 27 songs  He is an amazing performer, I haven't seen better. He was headlining a festival in Lisbon, tonight it's Queen I think. He didn't come on till 11.45 and we finally went to bed at 3.30 - Portugal has a late night culture, it being so hot. Apparently there were 62,000 people there, all ages, and everybody was singing and waving, and dancing, it was great. We managed to spend the entire set standing about 30 foot away from The Stereophonics, which was quite interesting, but much to my embarrassment we discovered this morning that we had also been 20 foot away from Adele all night and we didn't even notice her, despite the fact the VIPs had taken over the elevated sound and lighting stage, which we happened to be standing next to, so were in full view

This isn't normal for us, my musical taste was formed when I was 15-25, and I am a punk/Indy girl really, but friends had been raving about him live for years. Many bands I like don't exist anymore, and it's not very cool being so middle aged in a young crowd for some of the new ones. Anyway, has anybody got anything interesting coming up?

Well, we couldn't have gone to see Queen, as in bed by 9 for a solid 12 hours. What lightweights  Bizarrely I have just discovered that a friend is going to see Bruce in London soon, and my SIL is going to see him in Paris in June. It just so happens that her husband is lead singer in a band, and when Bruce did a version of 'Because the Night' I said to OH that my BIL should add it to his repertoire as it would suit his voice/their style and there is plenty of opportunity for guitarists to get involved and show off as well :D We looked up the set list from the Sat before, when Bruce played Madrid. He was on for even longer then, 3 hours, with a different set. The man is totally awesome. We need a respect smilie :D

Have a great time Grandmashazzie :D

Not been to any good ones in a while; used to go to more festivals than gigs in recent years - Global Gathering is near us, as is Wilderness, which Rosie is going to this year.

We are going to see Joe Bonamassa in July though, and really looking forward to it. Not a gig, but nevertheless exciting.... OH is treating me to a meal and trip on the Flying Scotsman in a couple of weeks; we are dressing up for the occasion - I will wear a 40s tea dress etc, and he's wearing a beige linen suit with braces, suede brogues, cravat and straw panama.

We went to see Adele over Easter and she was amazing! As well as the great voice she was really funny and down to earth, got kids up on stage to take photos and crawled around on the stage getting selfies with people

Tickets were a birthday gift from my brother but he had an exam the next day so Mom was quite happy she couple come!

Been to Glastonbury for the last couple years and worked at Reading and Latitude for a few years.

Memorable main stage acts are Florence, Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie. Smaller stages Sam Smith, Jessie Ware and Lianne La Havas.

We saw Joe Bonamassa a couple of years ago in Brum, he is very, very good. Not my type of music for a whole evening, but OH as a professional guitarist really enjoyed it as he is a very skilled chap. Perfectly listenable, non offensive and melodic, he can sing too! Love the Sloe gin song :D

I understand the Flying Scotsman will be at Severn Valley railway in September and we are hoping to go down to Trimpley and watch (and wave) as it goes past!
