AndyRoo Posted July 8, 2016 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Hello all, Does anyone happen to know off the top of their head what size walk in run configuration you need in order to fit an Eglu cube inside the cage? I wanted to do that as opposed to attaching it with an additional bit of run. We have plenty of room in the garden, so I was just going to build a run big enough to support them all year round! Not sure I understand the question but this may help: If you can I would have the Cube on the outside of the run as it makes it a lot easier to collect eggs, close up and clean out; not having to go into the run, especially if you're in a rush and want to keep the chickens in! Having it on the outside also makes it easier if you have someone else looking after the chickens that doesn't actually like to go near them. AndyRoo Posted July 8, 2016 Author Share Posted July 8, 2016 Maybe I didn't explain it well: I meant that I wanted to have the Cube set-up inside the run itself. Like this picture: I wanted it in the run specifically so that I could just walk straight in, let them out to free reign as it were and then leave them be until it was time to go to bed, and then usher them back in. I didn't want to attach it via the 'bridging' mesh as I thought it would be a little difficult for me to usher them back into the cube that way if they are refusing to go to bed. Personally I find the one inside easier, don't have to worry about space to slide the roof forward and can't get to the front of so it's looking grubby and covered in spiders webs.
