Snowy
Think I'll have too Emma! That apple recipe sounds delicious! I made one similar a while back but without the yolks in the apple (I think I'd made something with the yolks so was looking for a way to use up the whites and some cooking apples). Apple meringue pie, yum! Must try your version though.
The Dogmother
You really can't beat a Kenwood (pun not intended) for making cakes, I love it and it's so quick and easy. Last Christmas I treated myself to a small food processer - mainly for preparing and mixing things together. But I still use my Kenwood for cakes, dough and liquidising - they are just the best old workhorse you could ever wish for.
craftyhunnypie
Well got my remoska today from Shrewsbury. I've got the Grande and also got the recipe book and a stand for inside. Been studying the recipes & can't decide what to make in it first!!! Eccles cakes says hubby - I say a nice hot pot! What would you recommend? Hubby is fascinated with it, but I've told him keep his hands off it for the moment! It's my new toy! Emma.x
Egluntyne
There is a recipe called something like Jansens Temptation which my lot quite like. Makes fab Roast chicken and great roast potatoes and jacket potatoes.
Jules.
My mum made me laugh yesterday, she had a Lakeland catalogue & we were talking about Kenwood chefs. She said there was one in the brochure for 160, so I took a look & it was 399!
craftyhunnypie
Well we have had a light breakfast & we are having a light lunch too as going out for a meal later tonight. So unless I do a bit of baking, the remoska won't get tried out. Although I could do toasted sandwiches for lunch! Hubby is just dying for me to get it out! craftyhunnypie
Jacket potatoes done in the remoska are due to come out in ten minutes - I sprayed them lightly with fry light to make them extra crispy. Smell divine. We are having them with a little cheese & spring onion. Mmmmm I'm well impressed! I asked you all whether I should get a kenwood or a remoska & now I have both!!!! It was all started by someone posting a photo of some scones made in their remoska. Now I wonder who that was? I wonder what you'll all make me want next? Dilly made me want pekins! Such bad influences!!!!! Emma.x
Muppet81
Hello Eglutine and Craftyhunnypie, My Remoska has just arrived and I have to admit to being a bit scared of it I have got the Standard and have bought the little divider pan and the stand. I have also got the recipe book. I did not buy the shallow pan and think that perhaps I should have done. My difficulty will be with me not eating meat but Martin does. Trying to sort out recipes will take some thinking about but I'm sure i will manage. As I have not done my shopping this week I am looking at the dregs in the fridge and thinking roasted potatoes and veg with some halloumi cheese sliced on the tip. Tomorrow I am hoping to try a lamb casserole in the divider pan and some rast type of potaotes in the base and put some salmon and something in foil for me and stick that on top of the potatoes. As Remoska experts, is there anyhting I need to know and do you have any tips/recipes for a total Remoska virgin
craftyhunnypie
Hi - nice to speak again! All I would say is be really careful lifting the lid off after cooking! I scorched my hand when I first had mine - I lifted the lid the handle end and the steam bellowed out. Lift the lid away from you - if that makes sense. How about making a veggie sort of scone based pizza as an experiment? Or maybe a mixed bean & veg casserole - you could always top that with mashed potato or some cheese scones. Quorn chilli? Just literally use it as an oven. Good luck! Emma.x
Muppet81
I like the sound of the vegetable cheese scone. I can see how easy it must be to bur yourself or your worktop. I will have to be very careful. We have just had the roasted veg I mentioned in my earlier e-mail. I had the halloumi on mine and cooked a couple of a couple of Greek beefburgers in a seperate pan for Martin. The veg and halloumi were gorgeous and Martin really enjoyed the veg with his burger. I am getting quite excited about the possibilities. Any suggestions from any other Remoska owners would be welcome.
cathybc
my mum has a Kenwood that is yonks old too - I can remember it from when I was little so I guess it must be about 30 years old. She always lords it over me for the week or so between when she gets her new Lakeland catalogue and I get mine....we have both been considering the Ramoska for ages, but probably the little on ....
