Chicken Licken
Today I picked 2 lbs of blackberries when walking the dog, went out and picked 1 lb of elderberries and got a load of cooking apples from mum. I have made 5 jars of backberry, elderberry and apple jam and have enough blackberries and apples left over for a crumble tomorrow when the family are coming for supper. The only cost involved was a bag of sugar - pretty good hey. I am planning on making a load of jam as presents for christmas rather than buying a load of things people don't really want or need. Christian
Fantastic Chicken Licken. I started making jam/jellies last year and now love it. can't wait for the blackberry season (i have just picked 4lbs and made bramble jelly) People really appreciate the jams. Its so nice giving them away. Really fulfilling work!
Mrs Frugal
I'm a jam making addict to the point where LSH has banned me from making any more this year because it's taking over the kitchen . I've got a big preserving pan in the kitchen full of crab apples waiting to be turned into crab apple and clove jelly tomorrow too . I need therapy .
