Guest
I'm so glad it's not just me that threatens to take the money out of their pocket money! Duncan and Owen are ALWAYS misplacing pencil cases full of pencils, rubbers, pens - the lot. Santa got them both pencil cases filled to overflowing with much needed school equipment, which were carefully placed in their school bags on Christmas day. They had them out yesterday afternoon to make my dad birthday cards, and left them on the dining table ready to put back in their bags this morning for their return to school. Duncan picked his up after he finished breakfast, walked through to the bedroom, put it down to get dressed, and now can't find it - how can you lose a pencil case in your own room, WHEN IT'S TIDY!!!!! Lesley
I'm still laughing about Ollie's trainer since Kate told me yesterday........ and I bet you're still looking for that pencil case Shona? It will only turn up after you've replaced it
Mrs Frugal
That's what happened to us but I look on the bright side - we've now got a spare pencil case for when he DOES lose it!!
Guest
I supply my 4 with everything they need ready for September. They know that should last them all year and if they lose anything it's their problem! Mind you, DD3 had her entire PE Kit stolen and her fountain pen. Value over £40 But the worst is that I made her PE bag when she was 4 and we went to the shop to choose the material together. Now she's nearly 11 and still using it and, sentimental I might be but I am upset to lose it. I have had to replace everything!

Mrs Frugal
Time to go ahhhhh.....and a moment to say that not all 15 year old boys are pains in the bum! My electric mixer had got wet in the cupboard when the U-bend leaked and I'd had to make a swiss roll whisking the eggs by hand so it didn't rise very well. I told LSH and the boys that it wasn't a good pud but Tom said "It doesn't matter. It's made with love and that covers up any imperfections". Bless his little cotton socks . Sheilaz
Oh Kate, I can just imagine Tom saying that, how endearing! Can I swap, please? When my new pink Omlet Tshirt arrived, David (21) said "I might have to kill you if you go out in that! " This morning (for, I shall risk wearing it to badminton) even Esther asked me to zip up my cardigan before her friends arrived for school! Think I'll wear it often, just to annoy! Mel (& Paul)
Good on you Sheila I think thats what mums are for - to embarras their children as much as possible
Sheilaz
Very true, and I can do it without trying. The best fun though is doing it on purpose without them realising it's deliberate, just to watch them go
Mrs Frugal
That's the attitude, Sheila! Make sure you're wearing it when it will cause most embarrassment!!

Sheilaz
That's the attitude, Sheila! Make sure you're wearing it when it will cause most embarrassment!! Backfired a bit, wearing it to badminton...everyone stared! I've worn the sludge one & everyone politely smiled, but the pink.... !! Not really my colour. But I'll wear it next week too!
