Mrs Frugal
I'm glad Sarah came out looking good. I'd have felt so bad for her if she hadn't. She's a genuinely nice person who puts so much into her life - which is more than can be said for Miss Essexgirl who needs a good slap ! Nicola H
Oh yes I forgot about that one she had hair extensions every week.......And liked her tassles to be straight...
Mel (& Paul)
But what did her husband do that she could afford £150 a week on her hair alone - he seemed like a nice enough chap, but probably not stock broker or brain surgeon material?!?!? Nicola H
He looked like a footballer, you are right he didn't seem to have a lot of brain cells........
Mel (& Paul)
Bless I definitely think I a mixture of all the housewives - the Yorkshire one because I am not that keen on cleaning (would you have guessed......) Sarah because of the chickens and recycling etc... the chocolate one (although I dont eat only chocolate (wish I could and still look as thin as her!) the fairy one, because I see fairies, oh, no, thats right, its actually pink elephants I see.......... Mel (& Paul)
It wasnt what I was expecting - I thought the whole thing was going to be about the "good life" in suburbia, with chickens and things But it was quite entertaining
Guest
Thanks for posting the Surburbia Wives topic in the first place Kate. I would never had switched the TV on otherwise, let alone watch anything like that. But I did find it fascinating, interesting, and an eye opener. It is reassuring that we can see things like that to give us a balance as to our own lives, isn't it. It is comforting what so many of us are not in any of the 'extreme' catagories, whilst we might appear so to friends and neighbours for having chickens, allotments, recycle, and enjoy home baking, making cards et al. Great entertainment, I thought, and life would be pretty dull without lots of colourful characters like those who appeared, whatever our private thoughts might have been. Great - and time you'd like to by my personal TV reviewer (a bit like a personal shopper, but it won't cost me any money) then please feel free to post more programmes. ali-s
Sarah was the only housewife in the programme who I could relate to. To me she was normal. The othes seemed a little weird, (fairy lady), shallow( (shopping and hair extensions) or over the top (decanting everything into pretty glass bottles and jars). I could have easlily watched the whole programme featuring Sarah and her lifestyle. If I could give up work and stay at home I would like to live my life like that. At the moment my efforts are a token gesture. Well done Sarah!
Lesley
Yes, I wouldhave rather seen a whole programme about Sarah and her lifestyle. I also have some cushions with tassels and I also have to make sure they are straight (the OCD side of me) but if I start to become more like the woman who had been Tangoed - please shoot me (very unlikely though)
