Snowy Posted September 12, 2007 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Ruby and Rosie are my two araucana hybrids. I've now had them 8 weeks - they are coming up to 20 weeks so I may even get eggs soon. But I have never seen any other chickens like them before. Ruby is araucana mixed with white egg layer blood (possibly white star) She should lay sky blue eggs. Rosie is araucana x light sussex and should lay green eggs. They are gradually becoming tamer and Ruby actually ate out of my hand toniht! It was then that I noticed she has lime green earlobes! This is the best picture I could get and I've had to zoom in to show her ears - still not very clear. But they really are lime green. And the soles of her feet are bright yellow! Be interesting to see what colour eggs she does lay eventually Rosie is a bit more traditional, tufted araucana lobes. I've never considered araucana's before but I love her lime green ears & the thought of nice coloured eggs is very tempting! Are you sure she's a chook?
