MillyJude
We had a few hens with raised sore/weeping areas on their legs, it looked like it was scaly leg mite so I treated them all with the spray and did the infected hens again five days later. But (2 weeks later) I’m not sure if they have been cured or not, the legs don’t look sore and are not weeping but the scales are still raised. Is this normal or does it mean they are they still infected?
Lewis
The scales will probably look raised all year until the moult, worth treating them again in a month and possibly use a moisturising cream which might help
The Dogmother
The critical thing is that the crusts under the scales go/have gone.... that's the mites' exude. I'd anoint them with some Sudocrem in the meantime and make sure that they have plenty of dry, clean litter in their run.
