Newtochickens
Hi everyone, We are new to chickens and in this silly heat are really trying to keep them cool but they seem to be struggling. I’m freezing treats, putting ice in their water, and watermelon seems to go down a dream, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. A light sprinkle with the hose seems to be the enemy but one particularly (the largest) seems far too hot. Any help or ideas much appreciated! Thanks! Mrs_B
I've got the extension cable out with two fans on the hens - my orpingtons were heavily panting, and it is helping!
Cat tails
Lost of shade and then a bit more. I have a parasol over their coop. Just stuck the pole through the bars of the run. (It’s the green one in the photo) If you are on earth, grass or paving slabs, you can just tip a bucket on their floor, which will cool it down a bit too.
