Installing Indoor Cat Tree

Hi everyone,

 

Hopefully one of you will know the answer to this question......I have added a pic below, does anyone know what those "bits" are in the white?? We have had a few like that, on the outside of the egg it looks like barnacles are attached to the outside, it isnt on all of her eggs and she is fine if every other way......

Great picture (and it's good to see that I'm not the only one with an Ikea habit ), but quite honestly I'm afraid that I haven't got a clue .

I know what you mean about the deposits on the shell, we get them sometimes too - I always think of them as calcium deposits? Probably way off-beam.

 

Don't know what that is though (sorry no help at all really but at least you are not wondering who is reading and not replying!)

Thats what we thought it could be, I just wanted to check as im a bit wary of giving her eggs away at the minute as it does look a bit odd......

 

I will see how it goes, but if anyone does have any more suggestions or if they think she may need to see a vet then please let me know....

 

 

Yes I have a bit of a problem with Ikea I cant help but spend money lol

We get those on the outside of Marigold's eggs. I don't know what they are though and I've never seen them on the inside of an egg. Sorry to be of no help whatsoever!!

Have you eaten any of these eggs, if so are they gritty?

 

Just wondering whether they are getting too much grit or she is processing it wierdly.

I have eaten the eggs with it on the outside but not tried one with it inside......I think I might find a local vet who specialises in poultry and see what they think......

and/or post this in the chicken clinic and/or find another poultry health forum and/or e-mail the pic to the vet etc etc

Ooh i'm glad someone else has the same problem, it does look very wierd doesn't it. It will be interesting to know what it is.
