chickencam
We took delivery of a run converter yesterday DH, DD & myself all put it together and tried to attatch it to the run but it stuck up in the air at the end. We then had the horrible thought that it was shapred and we had put it together back to front. We took it appart and swapped it round it then fitted fine. Does the converter usually come with instuctions? Our box was badly damaged when it arrived and there were no clips with it so I am wondering whether there should have been instructions in with the bag of clips. Fortunately we had ordered a bag of spare clips because my hubby has a thing about spares, I am supprised he hasn't got a spare me by now
Nicola O
I got a converter last week and assebled it at the weekend. There is a right way and a wrong way to attach it. I knew which way round it went as I had one for the other eglu last year, but there was no instructions in the box so it could be confusing if you were assembling one for the first time. There was a big bag of clips though, far more than was needed, so perhaps you should contact Omlet if they forgot to put yours in the box. Nicola. xsoggyx
Do you know, can I just get the converter to start then get the extension if I need even more or do I need both to start?
Olly
you can just get the converter to start with. It makes a huge difference - I bought the extension but it's still in the box because the converter on its own made the run so much larger, so I'd definitely say buy one first, and then see if you need the extension as well. xsoggyx
Thanks Olly, wish I went the whole hog and got the Cube now but will extend my eglu to start with.
chickencam
We are really pleased with the extra space that the converter has given our girls so hopefully we will not need an extension because the run stards to look a bit like a weird tunnel when it gets too long and they might need GPS to find their way to bed at night. Christian
I agree Liz. The converter gives lots of extra room. They still free range when i am around, but when they are 'locked up' for a couple of days, i think they appreciate the extra space.
Ain't Nobody Here
I was pleased to read all your posts as I've got a converter on order (arriving 11th Oct). I was feeling guilty that the girls were in the small run. I will put it together very carefully!
Egluntyne
I've got extensions and converters on both of my green Eglus. Plenty of room for 4 hens if hey have to stay in the run all day.
nicki9
Which way is the right way? I've been struggling for an hour now, no visual spacial awareness! How do I do it?? I so wanted to have it done by the time hubby came home to prove I wasn't completely incompetent!
nicki9
Just found a thread from May, think I now get it. Wish me luck!
nicki9
I've done it, built the converter all by myself. Sometimes the simplest things can give you pleasure. The rabbits are so happy now tearing up and down inside. The chickens are stood watching in disgust. Little do they know - their cube should be arriving tomorrow! Christian
you can just get the converter to start with. It makes a huge difference I couldn't agree more! I thought about ordering the convertor and extension, (and moving a fence to fit it all in ) but the convertor gives lots of extra space for my girls. Well done Nicki!!!!
