Laura & CTB
Hi Claire. Generally if your chickens are scratching about you shouldnt have to cut their nails, they will wear them down themselves. Some of us have painted our roosting bars with Plastidip - a rubberised coating that I have found to be brilliant - they are easier to clean, dont stain and you can paint them cool colours Have a look here: http://www.plastidip.co.uk/index2.cfm?page=products&prodId=
Cinnamon
I have painted several sets of bars in Plastidip & it is great. The spray on stuff is way easier to habdle than the gloopy paint on one though! No funky colours here - I have stuck to clear
arowland17
Where can you get the plastidip from? I have seen it can be ordered online but the postage is as much as the can of spray so if anyone knows where it can be bought locally I'd be really grateful
Shirl
They sell this in B&Q I think it's what you need. http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?forceStaticLeftNav=true&action=detail&fh_view=detail&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB&fh_secondid=9254028
Cinnamon
I never found anywhere that sold it, so just bought it online. It came the next day, though I wouldn't hold my breath at the moment I don't think the B&Q one is your actual Plastidip, which seems to be the best one for the job........some people have tried several I think. I do know that Plasticote is not as sucessful.
