jakki54
Hi everyone, I have a large eglu cube Mk1 and I'm after some advice if possible please. My Chooks have taken to sleeping in the nest box section rather than on the roosting bars in the adjacent area, come morning the nest box is full of chicken pooh which is then transferred onto the eggs. As this can't be an isolated problem I just wondered how people have overcome the issue. Sadly omlet are out of idea's too.
Cat tails
I know some use a small tub trug and wedge that in the opening. Small childrens ball might fit too.
HarrisonFamily
We used a childs small space hopper - with the handles it was easy to push in and pull out and you could easily deflate \inflate to size.
Luvachicken
Tub trug user here 😊 They also have handles. It is a lot easier to put it in through the nesting box door though than through the back end of the cube. After man handling it quite a lot hubby said to me one day, why don't you put it in through the nest box door
jakki54
Thanks for the ideas Cat tails and Harrison family, I am considering drilling the partition and hanging a Frisbee from say a hook of some sort, but an inflatable ball is a good temp measure. Plus it might give them something to play with during their own lock down. Haha
