little chickadee
Hi - I'm a new chicken keeper, and while we were watching our girls eating the s"Ooops, word censored!"s/ corn we had prepared for them, my 6 year old yelled "Dave's caught a frog" and sure enough, Dave was running around the run with a mini frog hanging out of his mouth with the other 3 chooks in hot persuit. He managed to eat it on the run. I wondered if other people have spied their chickens eating frogs. I thought they limited themselves to bugs, slugs and worms! jomaxsmith
Yeuch! My new girls are still babies and having watched them take several goes at eating a worm, I can't imagine them managing a frog! I saw a rat run across the garden earlier, it would be lovely if I could train them to work together to get rid of rats but I don't think I'd want to eat their eggs! Besides, where would it end? If I got more chooks they could work together to eat the children Jo

Richard
Mine love frogs - I dont' like it, as I get really excited when the baby frogs come out of the pond etc. But my girls will fight like mad over frogs - one hen pulling on each leg!
