Trisha Kelly
Just started on forum so two queries in one go! Two of my four chicks, Gina and Rita are obviously the lowest in order. Gina really suffers from a pecked back. The vet said it was ok as long as no blood and no infection. Does anyone else get this? Rita has a little bit but nowhere near as bad. The vet mentioned fashioning some sort of "saddle" but being completely cack-handed this isn't really an option. All advice appreciated. Thanks for being there. I'm very popular with neighbours and work now! Trisha x
Ain't Nobody Here
I think I saw a post about a chicken saddle you can buy. I'll see if I can track it down. I'm sure people will come up with other solutions in the meantime!

Trisha Kelly
Thanks Vicki. You are a star. They'll be the envy of the neighbourhood with these!
Christian
Trisha, you could try a weak solution of tea tree oil mixed with water and sprayed on their backs. This would taste horrible for the pecker, and would help the peckee's back heal. If it continues, try anti peck spray from Pets at Home or a bumper bit attached to the pecker's beak. BUMPER BITS Good luck
