Guest
I have been to London today - Fruitstock - and I have walked 17000 steps, about 7 miles. Our pedometers are being a little strange recently and keep resetting themselves, so it's difficult to keep count. They both have new batteries, so perhaps it's time for a replacement machine? P.S. It's 5 months since anyone posted on this thread. Are we all to busy walking?
Eyren
I can't be bothered to buy a pedometer - I walk a lot anyway, as it's a mile to the bus stop in the morning (approx 2100 steps at my stride length), half a mile to Tescos and about a mile and a quarter to our allotment Yesterday I did the round trip to Tescos and one way to the allotment (I got the bus home, as it was hot and I was carrying a big bundle of sticks for making anti-chicken netting for my salad garden), so that's 4725 straight off
AnnieP
I've been thinking of getting a pedometer, other than the one that came free in a box of cereals I might go out today and see what we can find: Walked 8 miles on Friday with the dog and 10 on Saturday, but ended up both walks at the pub, so there goes all my hard work!! So: I am sure I walk plenty, but it would be nice to know how many I do in a normal day.....

theherd123
OH & I wore pedometers when we were on a short break in NY - oh my life we walked miles clocked up 32000 in just one day. By the time we got to bed that night my feet were barking - LOUDLY!!! I should really find my pedometer again and get walking.
Chicken on a mission
Hi everyone. Sorry but I haven't read this thread from the start but I am a big fan of the pedometer. The key to it is making sure that you are increasing the number of steps you take everyday, not just your good days. For those of you that were like me and thought there was no point in actually wearing a pedometer because you wouldn't be anywhere near the 10,000 steps anyway, that's that the whole point! My mum has started using a pedometer after the great result she has seen me getting and now if she needs the loo at work, she goes to the one down a floor. It doesn't make that much of a difference in the whole scheme of things but it is another small change that allows her to increase the number of steps she takes on a daily basis without too much effort. Even if she doesn't make the 10,000 steps a day she will be increasing her daily activity and that is success in itself So come on everyone, get the pedometers on and make one small change at a time and before you know it you will be doing more than you ever did without really noticing it

We don't have a ladies loo on our floor, and I always use the stairs
Lesley
I know I do more steps since we bought the farm - but I've mislaid my pedometer .
AnnieP
I bought one this morning from a shop nearby, wore it for my walk with Molly and lost it! We were about 8000 steps along the route. OH is going to run it tomorrow to see if he can see it.
