The things we do for our kids

Recommended Posts

My son is over at a friends tonight, they went home from school together and the freinds mum is taking them out on a halloween walk at a local farm.

I have lit pumpkins on the doorstep and I'm sitting in the dark with just candles lit wearing a lace skirt, black top, witches had with hair and my black winter wrap. Oh witches do wear Purple sparkly DM's don't they?

Just so I can surprise them when I come home - I will see them coming the headlights in the drive will give them away.

I won't see any trick or treaters cos we are three houses alone and its dark outside (you would need a torch just to find the house!). I hope James and his mate appreciate the effort. Oh and its good practice for the Primary school halloween disco tomorrow - the kids are going in fancy dress why shouldn't I. Don't all school governors dress up???

The boys were suitably impressed! They had been on a fantastic halloween walk in a local farm place with loads of scary stuff and just lanterns to light the way. I'm so pleased he went with his friend although I wish she had let me pay - it was £7.50 each!!!

Next time I have her kid over I'll try and do something good like that.

My hubby came home last night with a door cobweb from our local co-op, which we put across from the the trellis by our front door to the wall. It was weird stuff that clung to you if you touched it, and much to our eldest daughter's delight we totally got the teenage boy next door and his mate. It was very funny and they took in good heart. :P

We had tree enormous pumpkins that the children carved, we grew them ourselves and we have made soup and pie out of the carvings and the chooks ate the pulpy bits.

I bet James' face was a treat Pengy!

I'm afraid that I've been too busy to get a pumpkin sorted this year :(

Glad I wasn't the only one this year, we ended up with a carved butternut squash instead  it did look nice though
