I've found a chicken! Anyone missing one?

Recommended Posts

Well i havent found it myself but soemone in my mums yoga class said that a completely tame and freidnly white chicken walked into her house last night. Im going to go and collect it this afternoon.

She lives in bramingham, near sainsburys. has anyone or does anyone know of someone who has lost a chicken recently?

if no one claims her ill b ehappy to look after her myself. it would jst be sucha shame for someone to lose their pet chicken and think it is gone if i have it.

anyway, thats all from me.

Could you print up some small posters describing the lost chicken and pin them up in the street where your friend lives? Might get spotted by the owner. :)

thankyou! i've got some pictures now, shes just arrived, she is very muddy (from dustbathing i assume) and she is well fed and healthy looking. friendly and not scared of humans either, she must've been a pet. she didn't have her wings clipped however so im guessing thats how she escaped, ive clipped them now.

here she is:

Without knowing her/his age it is hard to tell how well developed the wattles and comb are. :?

The tail feathers are a bit blokeish, but as I agree with Claret that the feet and legs are girly.

It's anybody's guess at this stage.

When she starts to crow you'll have your answer!.

oh well, it doesnt matter if she isnt claimed im happy to add another hen to the flock., it would be nice to get another layer aswell as at the moment herro is the only one who lays. its annoying have 7 hens and only getting one egg a dya the ducks arent laying either, i think they must be men

anyway i think ill call her luna, to keep in with the harry potter theme^_^

no, shes not getting on with any of my other hens at teh moment which is a shame because hse hasnt anyone to cuddle up to to keep warm, im hoping to intorduce her slowly to the buffs and herro. if that doesnt work i suppose shell have to live by herself. :(

its quite strange though, i gave her a little hutch full of warm straw to sleep in and when i went out when it was dark she was roosting on top of the eglu, she seems determined to be out in teh cold by herself. ive shut ehra way now nd im hoping shell have enough hay to stay warm. ^_^

its just that because she is so healthy and unafraid of humans, she is good with being held too, it makes me think that she had an owner who loves her alot and trained her well, they must be missing her:(
