Chicken Licken
4 bars of value choc - mixture of dark and milk pecan nuts cherries cranberries marshmallows Crushed digestive biscuits tin of condensed milk Melt the chocolate over a low heat and add the condensed milk - mix them well together. Add halved cherries, pecan nuts and biscuits. Line a 2lb loaf tin with clingfilm. Pour half the melted choc mixture into the loaf tin. Add a layer of cut up marshmallows and sprinkle with cranberries (christmas theme here). Pour the rest of the chocolate mixture over the top. Allow to cool and then place in the fridge over night. Remove from the tin and sprinkle with icing sugar slice into small pieces (it is VERY rich) Should taste yummy and is ideal for Christmas pressies if you are going for home made. We do it for our Christmas sale at school and it always sells out very quickly. You can use cream instead of condensed milk (this makes it less chewy (I think)
Louise
Fresh or dried cranberries
Mrs Frugal
Oh dear, LSH loves this. I can see that the recipe will be very popular in our house .
Chicken Licken
I used dried cranberries, but it is the sort of recipe you can add whatever is in the cupboard to! Make sure the choc mixture is not too hot or the marshmallows melt - still tastes yummy though.
Louise
What size choc bars I am planning on having a shot at this at the weekend and if it is good I will be making a load as christmas presents
Christian
OH makes this at Christmas! About the only thing he can 'cook'! He uses the large bars (300g???) and short bread instead of digestives. It is a delicious recipe and only 7 calories a slice!!!
Louise
4 Large bars mind you if this makes them only calories
Christian
He uses 2 large bars maybe a little more. (well he buys 3 and I have to try it for quality control purposes)
Mrs Frugal
I do love quality control .
The Dogmother
I do love quality control . So does Rosie; she couldn't work out why there wasn't enough chocolate to cover her last batch of caramel shortbread - she'd eaten a 'few' chunks while she was making it
Egluntyne
I do love quality control . It is an absolutely essential part of the process.
Mrs Frugal
I quality controlled a big bowl of cream whipped with Nutella this afternoon. I feel rather sick now (the meringue didn't have much filling either )
Egluntyne
Have you got shares in Nutella, Kate?
Mrs Frugal
You'd think so, wouldn't you
Chicken Licken
Hmmm 4 ish bars of tesco value choc - they are quite little. I guess 2 bars of cadbury's type choc would be fine. If you do too much quality control you can always add a few more bits of biscuit or dried fruit!!
Lesley
I quality controlled a big bowl of cream whipped with Nutella this afternoon. I feel rather sick now (the meringue didn't have much filling either ) Green & Blacks do a chocolate spread now............ I haven't quality controlled it yet ( ) - Lauren and Jake have though.......

The Dogmother
That'd never happen here! Last Christmas I got one of those large tins of chocolates from a supplier; there were just 8 people in the office that day and all the sweeties were gone by lunchtime
